Thomas Tran is a distinguished professional with over 40 years of experience in international investment and foreign military operations. He has held key leadership positions, including Owner/President of multiple corporations, Deputy Director, Group Deputy Commander, Joint Command Operations Director, and Chief of Safety. His expertise spans international markets, foreign military affairs, aviation, and special operations.
Tom's career highlights include developing and leading corporations in the international marketplace, achieving an expected $500 million in annual growth. He directed a $1.17 billion aviation program for the Saudi Arabian Ministry of National Guard and managed a $1.2 billion program to train USAF Special Operations and Air Combat Command aircrews. His professional experience is marked by strategic planning, program management, and advisory roles to foreign senior military commanders in high-stakes international environments.
Tom's previous roles include Deputy Director of Aviation Training, Strategic Planning Group and Staff Training Group Manager, and Future Operations Manager at Vinnell Arabia, where he managed multi-billion-dollar aviation programs, provided critical operational planning and training, and was the advisor to the Commander, Saudi Arabian Ministry of National Guard.
Tom’s 27 year military career included serving as a Senior Mentor to the Afghanistan Air Force Chief of Staff, Deputy Group Commander for the 58th Special Operations Group, 505th Distributed Warfare Group, 438th Air Expeditionary Advisory Group, J3 Director of Operations for Special Operations Command, Joint Forces Command. He directed extensive training programs and operational missions across diverse global theaters, including Panama, Iraq, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kosovo, Somalia, Ivory Coast, and Afghanistan.
Tom holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration and Management from Trident University International and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the United States Air Force Academy. His qualifications include being a Joint Staff Officer, Air Advisor to Foreign Military, AS9100 Lead Auditor, Air Force Accident/Safety Board President, and an Evaluator/Instructor Pilot with 5,000 total flying hours in special operations aircrafts: AC-130H, MC-130H, MC/HC-130P, and C-130H.
His commendable service earned him numerous military awards and decorations, including the Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medals, Air Medals, Aerial Achievement Medals, and Air Force Commendation Medals. He was also the recipient of the Air Combat Command General Jumper Award and the Air Force Special Operations Command Safety Office of the Year Awards.
